I’m so buried in work at the moment that I no longer have time for Internet distractions. No blogs, no websites, no Twitter, nothing.
During work (and I’m writing this during my lunch break), I have my work, my iPod, and my brain to entertain myself. And let me tell you, it’s scary.
Things I’ve noted over the past few weeks:
- Why on earth has no one taken the Brak for President commercial Cartoon Network did for the 2000 election and turn it into “Barack for President”? Does this mean that Barack has an anti-beans agenda?
- The Tower Bridge Twitter Steam is one of the most soothing things on the Internet. You can just sit there for five minutes, reading about the ships going in and going out, the raising and lowering, everything in its right place. Ahhh.
- The Quiet Village is the greatest podcast in the universe. Lounge, exotica, surf and hapa haole music make everything smooth and mellow. You want Mai Tais, beach breezes and a hammock. This, World Passport, Vintage Horror Radio, and, naturally, The Rissington Podcast make my day so much brighter.
- Nothing beats devouring homemade strawberry shortcake. Except maybe devouring homemade green tea ice cream.
- I often wonder if some design peccadillos are built in from childhood. Do we like the “wicked worn” look because of the poor Xeroxes and mimeographs we received in primary school? Does this mean that we’re moulding an entire generation that’ll think Comic Sans is the hottest trend in 15 years?
So what have you been thinking about?
