My latest web obsession

So most people are still talking about Twitter, and some are into Virb or Trig, and even a few have laughed mightily at Useless Account, but, for me, my one-stop shop for Internet hijinx has to be The Ten Word Review.

It’s fairly straightforward. You find something, you review it. In ten words. No more, no less, and no hypenating-your-words-to-fit-more-in.

So, naturally, being someone who likes the quick quip and minimalism, I’m all over it. My husband’s been participating since it was a Livejournal community, and once Neil Crosby moved it onto its own site, I started reviewing.

And, wow. Comedy gold.

I’m mentioning this because, now, Neil’s put in a ratings system. And with the ability to judge your compatriots, the site is slowly forming into something that is usable, entertaining, and geeky fun.

If you’re in the mood to make tiny reviews on trivial things, then this is for you. Me? I’m about to go review a few more movies…

  2. Thanks for the link Kate. The good thing about the rating system is that now that it’s in place I’ll be able to do all sorts of interesting things with bubbling content in and out of view depending on how it’s been rated.

Oh, and as it happens, right now you’re the third best reviewer on the site!

  3. I checked it out…for fun…umm, ended-up reading every review you wrote! Each review: brilliant! :D
